Peter Pan Peanut Butter and Great Value Peanut Butter Recall

On February 14, 2007, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warned consumers not to eat Peter Pan peanut butter or Great Value peanut butter from jars beginning with the product code 2111, due to risk of Salmonella contamination. This recall also includes certain peanut butter toppings used by Sonic and Carvel outlets until February 16, 2007.

Anyone who has eaten these products and who has experienced any symptoms of Salmonella should contact their doctor or health care provider immediately. Symptoms of food-borne illness caused by Salmonella may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramps, dehydration, headache and fever.
